DE-ANIMATED: THE INVISIBLE GHOST

DE-ANIMATED: THE INVISIBLE GHOST

DE-ANIMATED: THE INVISIBLE GHOST, 2002
Director: Martin Arnold
60’, English, B&W
Martin Arnold, known with his experimental films, intervenes in a legendary horror film of 1941, and he even puts the film through a cinematographic operation. The original film, The Invisible Ghost, tells about a woman who hypnotizes her husband in order to commit murder, while here the actors suddenly disappear, thanks to digital technology and the cinematic location fills in from the star, trying to deconstruct the understanding "character film". At the last stage the eye of the camera goes around an empty set deprived of human life, where even lights have quit their job. This absurd and radical interpretation of film material turns into an incredible experience for the viewer.
