HAIR (SAÇ), 2010
Türkiye, Greece | DCP, Color, 131’ | Turkish
Cast: Ayberk Pekcan, Nazan Kesal, Rıza Akın

The last film in the director's "Conscience and Death" trilogy following Rıza and Haze, Hair made its premiere at the Locarno Film Festival. Hamdi, the anti-hero of the film, is a wig vendor who lives alone and sleeps in his shop in Tarlabaşı. He has cancer and is waiting for death. He develops an obsession with Meryem, who visits his shop one day, spurred by his solitude due to his asocial personality and the malicious cycle of his illness. The consequences of this obsession will not be good for anyone. Hair is, in the words of Kate Lawrie Van de Ven, “a riddle meticulously set up, frame by frame.” The film won the Golden Tulip at the Istanbul Film Festival.
