Having premiered at the Cannes Critics’ Week, this film is based on a true story. While the first half delves into the deadly price of living under capitalism through the tragedy of a high school student called Sohee who undergoes an exploitative internship at a call center, the second half takes a turn into a tense crime thriller as it focuses on the investigation of female detective Oh Yoo-jin. Along with Sohee’s humanity, the despair of South Korean youth, the malfunctioning system, and the question of responsibility lies at the heart of this somber political drama. And yet again, it falls upon another woman to rescue the next Sohee from the system.

Sinema sektöründe faaliyet gösteren kadınlara daha fazla alan açmayı hedefleyen ve ustalık sınıfı, sohbetler, atölye çalışmaları gibi birçok etkinliğe yer verecek bu projenin ilk etkinliği beş filmlik bir açıkhava gösterimi. İran’dan Şili’ye kadın yönetmenlerin filmlerinden oluşan bu program konukların katılımıyla gerçekleşecek.
