THE FACE OF THE JELLYFISH (EL ROSTRO DE LA MEDUSA), 2022
Argentine | DCP, Color, 75’| Spanish, English, German
Director: Melisa Liebenthal
Cast: Rocío Stellato, Vladimir Durán, Federico Sack

Marina, a teacher in her thirties, wakes up one morning to find that her face has changed. She is unable to recognize herself in the mirror; even her mother glances at her on the street as if greeting a stranger before moving on. Marina embarks on a quest to uncover this mystery and discover the truth about herself. Rather than focusing on the horror of the situation, the film depicts it as an existential concern, exploring Marina’s daily life. The film by Argentinian director Melisa Liebenthal, delivers a playful, satirical examination of the extent to which our identity is intertwined with our physical appearance, while also questioning our position within the animal kingdom.
