13th International Filmmor Women's Film Festival on Wheels March 14–22, 2015

Istanbul Modern Cinema hosts the 13^th International Filmmor Women’s Film Festival on Wheels. This year the festival has chosen women’s resistance as its main theme and includes feature films, documentaries, and shorts produced in recent years by women from Turkey and abroad. This year’s Filmmor program at Istanbul Modern presents thematic sections such as “Sexuality” and “Women’s Cinema”, featuring films such as “Regarding Susan Sontag” that won the award for the Best Documentary Feature at the Tribeca Film Festival, “Seaburners” by Melisa Önel, and Céline Sciamma’s “Girlhood” performing well in 2014’s festivals. The festival also includes a retrospective of Margarethe von Trotta, a leading director of the New German Cinema movement, who came to the fore with her way of representing women in her feminist films.
